She was born April 16, 1958 in Ellendale, North Dakota to Earl and Edna Grosz. She graduated in 1977 from Kulm High School. Donna graduated from Town and Country Beauty College in Jamestown where she met Gary Docktor. She married Gary on August 19, 1978 in Kulm, ND. Donna held various retail positions over the years including Maurices, Don's House of Flowers, Christopher & Banks, Sears, Newman Signs and Gun & Reel. She also worked in the Jamestown School system as a teacher's aide and a paraprofessional for many years.
