I and son had good time in this hotel stayed weekend basketball games with his team. It was dark, and the exterior had all the appeal of a fleabag hotel. The shining star of my stay however was the complementary breakfast, by far one of the best that I've heard. We had to ask the front desk for lotion. Great staff and I was made to feel right at home. We all loved the in and out door pool as well the very well equipped and big gym. Checked in on Nov 4th Checked out on Nov 6th. Close to the mall and other eating locations; Montana's, Perkins, Kelsey's etc. Hated the fact people were smoking on their poolside patios which made it hard to enjoy ours. I am aware that check-out is 11am, but I called earlier in the week to ask about checking in before the 1pm bus departure and was told that wedding blocks had first priority for cleaning. The Best Western St. Catherine's is a pretty standard Best Western. Would not recommend. We stayed there because dogs were allowed and there was a convenient area to walk our dog. I liked it so much I have switched. Sauna and hot tub were so relaxing I never used all the fitness machines they have! A quick call to Best Western and we were booked for the night, however when we specified a 'quiet' room..that I needed rest, that's where we were told that many sports tournaments were going on everywhere in the city so the hotels are filled with many, many kids and their parents. Brakfast: Under average, but it is free. We didn't go in but there is a sports bar and grill onsite. We stayed there for 4 nights. One evening we were too tired to go out and decided to eat in the onsite bar. An excellent property for any type of stay! The people who have said that you have to go early because they run out that is not true. In a hotel that did not have full occupancy they put another guest in a connecting room. Thank you. The location of this hotel is right off the QEW and very close to shopping ( Costco right across the street) and restaurants - Kelseys, Perkins and Montana's are walkable.
