CDC Director Edits Coronavirus Models

Death toll will be ‘much lower’ than projected

The Center for Disease Control (CDC){<Click for article} has stated the death model projection is down from 2.2 million to 60,000. This means, for every hundred people who were projected to die of Covid-19 related illnesses, is now being projected that only 3 of that hundred people will expire from the disease. Their previous predictions were in effect until August 2020. People from around the globe have been waiting to hear encouraging information. This is HUGE!

When Covid-19 was first discovered in the United States, we did not have data except in real time. We were only able to rely on what other countries were reporting. Many hospitals, medical offices and private mail-in testings were being done. However, many Covid tests were coming back inaccurate.

On March 29, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence sent a letter {<Click for document} to hospital administrators requesting data on Covid-19 be directly reported to National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Could accountability be playing a role to ensure numbers are being reported correctly?  Is this why the significant drop in model numbers? The projection of death-related statistics are not down by a little, but are down 97%!  It seems fair to at least make a mental note. This new model number 60,000 deaths (given to us by the CDC), is the same number of deaths related to the common flu.

If we knew then what we know now about these new numbers,  would losing our economy over this still have been worth it?
