Iran TV reported “millions” of Iranians were mourning the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, killed by a US drone strike in Baghdad last week.
CNN reported they could not confirm Iranian TV claim there were millions of mourners for the General.
American Iranian Journalist Karmel Melamed, is skeptical.
Melamed tweeted “Do not believe the hype regarding the Soleimani funeral. My compatriots in Iran have contacted me indicating people have been forced to attend his public funeral by regime thugs or face imprisonment or being killed. Iranians in Iran fear for their lives! https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/06/middleeast/iraq-us-iran-tensions-intl-hnk/index.html …“

Melamed claimed the Iranian regime only gives Western journalists visas to Iran if they report what the regime parrots to them! He tweets:
SHAME ON GMA for covering Iranian regime's propaganda! This was a staged funeral where Iranians were forced to attend the funeral under duress for face death/ imprisonment! The regime only gives Western journalists visas to Iran if they report what the regime parrots to them! https://t.co/32vOOD0bxp

Reza Behrouz tweeted a video as proof the Iranian regime uses computer animation to show a massive crowd:
The #Iranian regime uses computer animation to show a massive crowd gathered to mourn the execution of the #IRGC warlord, #QassemSoleimani. Propaganda is the best regime can do, and that includes using its US proxies (@NIACouncil) to publicize this hoax.pic.twitter.com/KT25D0gPmx

So the Iranian regime's thugs in Iraq carried Soleimani's coffin in a CHEVY TRUCK prior to shipment to Iran…
Nothing says "death to America" like using a U.S. made vehicle to carry your beloved general! ?? pic.twitter.com/apJvttD1pW
